Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to everyone using Flicker. It exists to keep the service safe, performant, and lawful for all customers. Violations may result in throttling, suspension, or termination, with or without notice depending on severity.
Prohibited activities
- Cryptocurrency mining, proof-of-work computation, or similar workloads not consistent with normal database use.
- Sending unsolicited bulk email, SMS, or any form of spam — including using a Flicker database as the backing store for a spam operation.
- Hosting, distributing, or processing content that is illegal in the United States, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), content that infringes intellectual property rights, or content that violates export controls.
- Phishing, credential harvesting, malware distribution, or any deceptive impersonation of third parties.
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any system, network, or data — whether part of Flicker, another customer's, or a third party's.
- Denial-of-service activity, port scanning, or any traffic intended to disrupt service for others.
- Probing, scanning, or load-testing the Flicker control plane or another tenant's endpoint without prior written permission.
- Reselling raw access to Flicker resources without our written agreement.
- Using the service to store or process regulated data (e.g., PCI cardholder data, US PHI subject to HIPAA) unless we have a written arrangement covering that use.
Resource use
Plans include fair-use limits on storage, branch count, and concurrent connections. We may apply soft limits and reach out before taking action; sustained patterns that destabilize the platform may be throttled immediately.
Security incidents you cause
You are responsible for credentials you create (database roles, API keys, branch endpoints) and for the contents of databases you operate. Notify us promptly if a credential you control is exposed.
Reporting abuse
Report suspected abuse, illegal content, or security issues to johnorlando@me.com. We take all reports seriously and respond within five business days.
